Michael L. Williams, who chairs both the Railroad Commission of Texas and the Governor’s Clean Coal Technology Council is spearheading the state’s effort to reduce emissions from coal- fueled electric power.
“Coal has to be part of the electricity mix of the state because it provides an affordable source of power,” Williams said. “But it can’t simply just be cheap.
“We have to have coal-fired power that’s also clean.”
